Thanks to the further development of medicinal and surgical therapy methods, a highly differentiated treatment of benign prostate enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia) is now possible. If surgery is indicated, patients can choose from a range of innovative and gentle procedures in addition to conventional removal of the prostate (transurethral resection/TUR-P). These include both bipolar resection techniques (TURis vaporization) and modern laser procedures (HoLEP, LIFE diode laser). It is therefore all the more important to carefully weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of the various treatment options and always take the patient's subjective symptoms and preferences into account when deciding on treatment.
The second opinion shows the treatment options tailored to the individual clinical picture and explains the expected success and side effects of the individual treatment methods.
